Our Investment Philosophy

At Cadira Capital Management, we believe that "investing for sustainability" will deliver superior risk-adjusted returns over the long term. Our belief is underpinned by three core beliefs.

1. Sustainability excellence drives corporate value

A company's success or failure in addressing sustainability has a strong influence on corporate value that increases with time. Companies influence the environment and society through their business, and conversely, are influenced by the environment and society. Therefore, a positive impact on the outside world will return as a positive impact on itself. Similarly, negative impacts will eventually come back as negative repercussions.

2. Investment process rooted in sustainability leads to high-quality investment opportunities

Because sustainability affects corporate value, integrating it into the framework of traditional value investing leads to a more sophisticated investment process. For example, when analyzing a company's fundamentals, we can better understand its true picture by including non-financial information alongside financial data. Since sustainability practices are constantly evolving, staying informed about global trends and leading the way in incorporating new insights into the investment process allows for the early identification of high-quality investment opportunities.

3. Engagement of investors who prioritize sustainability brings about positive change in companies

For companies committed to long-term development, the voice of sustainability-oriented investors can provide valuable input into management decisions. Informed investors, who provide information, questions or suggestions, provide companies with ideas and discipline that can have a transformative influence on the entire company over the long term. While a long-term management approach may sometimes conflict with the views of investors seeking short-term profits, the engagement of investors who share the same long-term perspective as management provides the courage to take the path in which leaders believe.
